The story behind KPC

It started with a question about what YPO could contribute.

What happens when the learning, experience and relationships of extraordinary people reach beyond the organization — and are put to work in the world?

2012

Building on YPO's offering.

In 2012, Alain Chetrit was serving on the YPO International Board. He saw extraordinary members doing extraordinary things, but YPO largely knew them through their business qualifications. Much of what they were doing in the world — and what they could contribute beyond their businesses — remained invisible.

Alain made the case for a Global Impact Initiative: highlight members doing extraordinary things to make the world better.

The insight was simple:
YPO had extraordinary capability. What could it do with it?

Years later, travelling through YPO and eventually to Davos, the question became even bigger. Alain encountered exceptional people who were not YPO members and realized that the people capable of contributing to impact were not all inside YPO.

That led to the creation of the Knowledge Impact Network, deliberately connecting YPO members with exceptional people outside YPO. When YPO later created its Communities structure, the opportunity emerged to bring this work back inside YPO as the YPO Knowledge Pledge Community — KPC.

The purpose

Take the learning we have as members and make it available elsewhere.

Alain describes YPO as a learning organization — a place where members absorb knowledge from one another, from education and idea exchange, from events, from their companies and from the people around them.

The question is what happens to that learning afterwards. Do we press the sponge back onto ourselves, or do we press it back out onto the rest of the world?

01

Learning should travel.

Experience gained inside YPO can create value far beyond it.

02

Connection creates possibility.

The right person, relationship, resource or insight can change what happens next.

03

People make things happen.

Human judgement, trust, accountability and persistence remain essential to turning an idea into action.

The moment we are in

AI changes the equation.

There is no lack of problems in the world. And as long as there are problems in the world, there is value to be added and work to be done.

What is shifting with AI is not the need for people. It is the format through which value can be created and delivered.

AI can search, analyse, synthesize and connect information at a scale no individual can match. That makes it possible to coordinate knowledge and resources in ways that were previously too slow or too difficult.

But the human contribution becomes more important, not less: judgement, trust, lived experience, relationships, accountability, the ability to convene the right people, and the persistence to carry an idea into action.

The opportunity is not to compete with AI at its strengths.
It is to use AI to make human leadership more powerful.

That is where the original KPC idea meets the technology of today — and where SOLVED enters the story.

Where it goes next

From learning to connection.
From connection to action.

KPC provides the community and the mission. SOLVED provides the AI platform, Solution Rooms and infrastructure to activate it. Members provide the judgement, relationships and leadership.
